My first-hand review after visiting in March 2026
If Mauritius is on your radar (and it absolutely should be), you’ve probably come across Beachcomber Resorts—one of the island’s most established and trusted hotel groups.
After visiting all eight Beachcomber properties in March 2026 on an educational trip, I can confidently say this brand is one of the best for consistent quality, incredible beachfront locations, and value-for-money luxury.
Beachcomber is also the oldest hotel group in Mauritius, and what really stands out is how they’ve managed to evolve without losing their identity. Each resort feels different—but the quality is consistently high.
Why Choose Beachcomber in Mauritius?

Before diving into each hotel, here’s what every Beachcomber resort offers:
- Incredible beachfront locations across the island
- All watersports included as standard
- Dine-around options across their 4★ and 5★ hotels
- Excellent kids clubs (typically open from around 9am to 9pm)
- Children can even have dinner there, allowing parents to enjoy a proper evening out
- Strong ability to cater for dietary requirements
- Villa options available at selected resorts
- A genuine commitment to sustainability
- Leftover food is redistributed to local communities or used as animal feed
- Excellent sports and wellness facilities
- Tennis, gym, group classes and padel at selected resorts
- Spa facilities available at every property
Beachcomber really delivers on affordable luxury.
5★ Beachcomber Resorts (Luxury & Premium)
Royal Palm Beachcomber – Ultimate luxury

This is the flagship hotel and one of the most prestigious in Mauritius – A Leading Hotel of the World and rated 5* by Forbes.
What makes it special:
This is one of the few hotels in Mauritius that genuinely feels ultra-luxury but understated. It’s very low-key, very polished, and incredibly service-driven— often guests are repeat clients, long stays and a has a “members club” feel.
The feel:
Small, boutique and quiet. You won’t find loud entertainment or big buffets here—it’s all about calm, space and personalised service.
Restaurants (4):
- La Goélette – fine dining, international fusion
- Asiya – Pan-Asian

Paradis Beachcomber – Luxury meets family with golf

Set next to Dinarobin, but with a more lively and active atmosphere.

Set on a private peninsula near Blue Bay Marine Park and very close to the airport.
What makes it special:
You’ve got three different beaches and a more natural, less “resorty” feel. The all-inclusive offering is also one of the strongest in Mauritius.

- Great for multi-generational trips
- Good central location for exploring
- Excellent value
My take:
One of the easiest hotels to recommend when budget matters but standards still need to be high.
Canonnier Beachcomber – Character and family-friendly

Set in historic grounds with fort ruins and lush gardens.

- Ultimate luxury: Royal Palm

- 5* with activities: Paradis

- Couples (4★): Victoria for 2 or Shandrani for 2

Round up from my visit
What really stood out is how Beachcomber delivers consistency without feeling generic.
Each resort has its own personality—but you’re always getting:
- Excellent food choices
- Great beachfront locations
- Amazing inclusions
- Excellent service
- Family friendly options and great kids clubs
My top tips:
- Room choice makes a big difference. I’d almost always recommend upgrading to beachfront or pool options where possible.
- If you’re stuck for choice, you don’t have to stick to just one resort. Split your stay between a couple of hotels such as one in the North and one in the South. Or add a few days of luxury stay on to stretch your budget.
